Iran-based assembly of Muslim unity stages int'l meeting
Iran-based World Assembly of Proximity among Islamic Denominations staged a first international meeting on the role of the global unions of the assembly in advancing the mission of Muslim unity.
The meeting started on Wednesday and run through Friday October 13, 2017.
Early in the meeting, deputy of the assembly in social affairs, Nazemi Ardekani said top figures of the Muslim community are supposed to carry out the mission of unity, adding a union of Muslim top figures should be founded.
Also, the assembly’s secretary general, Mohsen Araki said the mission of unity was the largest issue ahead for all those concerned in the Muslim community.
The secretary general said the division and schism was the largest threat facing the community, adding the assembly seeks to adopt more fruitful approaches towards the goal worldwide.
The participants of the meeting agreed that global unions of the assembly be founded as a network of the top Muslim figures in socio-cultural, political and scientific areas.
They also approved to strive to convert the discourse of Muslim unity into a social behavior in the Muslim world.
The participants were also commissioned to identify top Muslim figures and boost them as part of an initial step for the materialization of a new Islamic civilization.
