Rouhani: Iranians Won’t Be Brought to Their Knees in Face of Pressure
Iranian President Hasan Rouhani said Saturday that Iranian people have shown that they have enough strength and power to face and resist the pressures and will not be brought to their knees.
“Iranian people have been confronting the dangerous coronavirus for more than five months and they have faced severe US sanctions for more than two years,” Rouhani was quoted by Iranian media as saying.
“Iranians have passed difficult months and years and experienced economic problems during these years.”
“During these difficult months and years, Iranian people have shown that they have enough strength and power to face and resist the pressures and will not be brought to their knees,” he noted.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has congratulated Lebanon on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Independence Day, reaffirming Tehran’s support for Beirut and its preparedness to strengthen bilateral relations.
The United States of America has resorted to what amounts economic and medical terrorism since 2018 when it unilaterally withdrew from the Iran Nuclear Deal. As part of the “maximum pressure campaign” against Iran, even food and essential medicine has been included in the new restrictions.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has voiced support for Russia’s “valuable” efforts that brokered a truce between Armenia and Azerbaijan aimed at ending the fighting in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, saying the Islamic Republic is ready to offer any help and cooperation in this regard.
