Pres. Assad hails Iran's role in Syrian victories
TEHRAN, Jan. 04 (MNA) – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said Iran deserved congratulations on recent victories in Syria since they were accomplished with Iran’s support.
Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi met and talked with the Syrian President al-Assad in Damascus on Wednesday morning.
During the session, Iran’s Boroujerdi offered congratulations on Syria’s recent triumphs especially liberation of Aleppo.
In response, Assad highlighted that Iran deserved sincere congratulation for providing Syrians with unwavering support through which victories were obtained.
Boroujerdi further added that Iran had experienced similar conditions during Liberation of Khorramshahr which was the Iranian recapture of the port city of Khorramshahr from the Iraqis after 575 days on 24 May 1982 during the Imposed War with Iraq.
The Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Com.mittee Alaeddin Boroujerdi, heading a parliamentary delegation, landed in the Syrian capital on Tuesday evening.
The delegation will also meet with senior Syrian officials including Parliament Speaker Hadiya Khalaf Abbas, Prime Minister Imad Khamis and Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem.
