Hezbollah: Excuses which Led to Sabotage of BDL Forensic Audit ‘Unacceptable’
Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Saturday that excuses which led to the sabotage of forensic audit of Lebanon’s Central Bank (Banque du Liban)are unacceptable.
In remarks carried by Al-Manar, Sheikh Qassem stressed importance of the forensic audit, noting that “going ahead with ambiguity over the situation of the central bank will lead for more collapse.”
“Forensic audit of BDL must be priority and trading blame doesn’t sit straight.”
In this regard, Sheikh Qassem said that the government, judiciary and Parliament should follow up on this forensic audit issue.
Earlier on Friday, caretaker Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni said that restructuring consultancy Alvarez & Marsal has pulled out of a forensic audit of BDL because it did not receive information required to carry out the task.
Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General sheikh Naim Qassem pointed out that the causes of procrastination in the cabinet formation file are mere internal, adding that the parties concerned with the process have failed to reach an agreement in this regard.
Member of Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc, Dr. Hasan Fadlallah, stressed on Tuesday that Hezbollah is ready to provide subsidies to all the Lebanese people, adding that, however, some political parties reject such aids.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah stressed on Wednesday that the recent Saudi offer to reach a ceasefire agreement with Yemen’s Ansarullah is a mere deception, emphasizing that the Yemeni command and Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badreddin Al- Houthi may never accept it.
Amid the diverse political interpretations of the circumstances of Hezbollah delegation visit to Moscow last week, Head of the Party’s Foreign Relations Official Ammar Al-Moussawi stressed that the talks with the Russian officials were positive and constructive.
