Lebanese Presidency Denies Aoun-Hariri Meeting in Bkirki

The Lebanese presidency issued on Thursday a statement to deny the reports which alleged that President Michel Aoun had met with the premier-designate Saad Hariri at the patriarchal seat in Bkirki.

 

The statement clarified that the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Beshara Boutros al-Rahi, proposed holding such a meeting during his talks with President Aoun who visited him on the occasion of the holidays.

Al-Rahi, appealed, during his sermon on Thursday, to the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister-designate to come together in a personal reconciliatory encounter and to form the new government.
