Lebanon: Development and Liberation Bloc Submits Draft Law to Classify Port Blast Martyrs as Those of LAF

The Development and Liberation parliamentary bloc, represented by its member MP Ali Hasan Khalil, submitted on Wednesday a draft law that classifies martyrs claimed in Beirut Port blast as those of the Lebanese army.

According to the same draft law, those who were injured in the port explosion would benefit from a lifetime social insurance. A massive explosion rocked Beirut port on August 4, 2020, killing around 200 people and wounding more than 6000. The blast also destroyed most of the port’s constructions and damaged a huge number of buildings in the capital and its suburbs. Source: Al-Manar English Website
