Several Iranian experts in regional affairs believe that the recent Israeli atrocities in Israel were not surprising adding however that Israel had become more emboldened owing to the recent upheavals in the Muslim community.  Senior Iranian diplomat Hamidreza Dehqani says the Israeli atrocities are committed amid developments in the Muslim community that have sidelined the Palestinian issue in the Muslim agenda.   “Regional states especially the Arab governments are engaged in their own affairs at the cost of the Palestinian issue and the holy Quds,” he said, adding secret contacts between Israel and Arab states took place amid the developments.     The expert said the regional nations may demand their governments to show reactions to the developments and make them accountable in case of their failure.   For his part, Hassan Hanizadeh said the recent Israeli positioning of security gates upon arrivals into the al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied al-Quds (‘Jerusalem’) was a practical step for the later occupation of the holy mosque.  “Israeli authorities consider the situation as a favorable opportunity for the occupation of the mosque and the total judazation of Quds,” he said, adding the security gates are meant to sideline the original Palestinian guardians of the mosque.    “The first Muslim qiblah has been virtually occupied seven decades of the occupation of Palestine,” he said.  Also, Majid Qanadbashi said Israel has since long sought to use the al-Aqsa issue to advance its policies, adding Israel seeks to gain the full control of Palestine.  The expert said Israel is growingly losing its status among the world Jews and seeks to find new legitimacy by building the alleged temple of Solomon over the al-Aqsa mosque.  Qannadbashi added however that the Israeli measures in the mosque would have backlashes by further expanding the mindset of the Palestinian intifada.  And, aide to the Iranian foreign ministry, Hossein Sheikholeslam said Israel growingly becomes weaker and that their atrocities are passive measures.  The expert said the regime was fabricated by the west in a bid to gain the control of the regional energy reserves however the scenario is going to fail.  Also, professor with the University of Tehran, Sadeq Koushki said the existing regional tensions have provided Israel with a favorable opportunity for advancing its judazation projects in the occupied al-Quds and repress the Palestinian intifada.  The university professor said the regional states appeared to be keeping reticence over the al-Aqsa issue, adding the Israeli interests would be served if the Palestinian issue is sidelined form the Muslim agenda.
