Leaders of regional resistance to join Rouhani’s swear-in ceremony
Leaders and senior politicians from around the world are arriving in the Iranian capital, Tehran, to attend the upcoming inauguration ceremony of President-elect Hassan Rouhani.
Leaders and senior politicians from around the world are arriving in the Iranian capital, Tehran, to attend the upcoming inauguration ceremony of President-elect Hassan Rouhani.
Since Thursday, aircraft carrying as many as 30 delegations have touched down in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini and Mehrabad International Airports, with yet more scheduled to arrive.
Among others, leaders of the regional resistance groups are also arriving in for the ceremony that is slated to be held (at Majlis Parliament) on Saturday.
A Hamas delegation arrived in Tehran Friday for the ceremony.
The delegation is led by Ezzat al-Reshq who is accompanied by Saleh al-Rarouri, Zaher Jabbarin and Osamam Hamdan.
The visit takes place upon an invitation by the Islamic Republic to Hamas political bureau chief, Ismail Haniya.
In a statement, Hamas has said the visit comes as a signal of appreciation for Iran’s role in supporting the Palestinian nation’s resistance, according to al-Shahab website.
