Israeli troops shoot dead young Palestinian over alleged stabbing attack in West Bank

A Palestinian young man has been fatally shot by Israeli troops following what the regime’s military claimed to be a stabbing attack in the occupied West Bank.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Israeli army claimed that the Palestinian was trying to “stab two soldiers” outside the illegal settlement of Ariel in Salfit district. “One of the soldiers blocked the assailant’s multiple stabbing attacks, and the commander of the troops who was at the scene fired towards the assailant and neutralized him,” it said. The military said Israeli troops suffered no casualties in the incident. The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that a citizen had been shot dead by the occupation forces. Many Palestinians have sustained injuries or lost their lives in similar incidents due to allegations that they attempted stabbing or car-ramming attacks. Israeli troops have on numerous occasions been caught on camera brutally killing Palestinians, with the videos going viral online and sparking international condemnation. The Tel Aviv regime has been criticized for its extensive use of lethal force and extrajudicial killings against Palestinians who do not pose an immediate threat to the occupation forces or to the Israeli settlers.
