Iraqi Foreign Ministry has summoned Turkish chargé d'affairs in Baghdad to submit a letter of protest over Ankara’s ongoing violations in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, including the presence of the Turkish defense minister in the area without prior coordination.
Two roadside bombs have separately struck two convoys of trucks carrying logistical equipment belonging to the US-led coalition forces in the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad as well as the central province of Babil.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi pledged on Friday that Thursday’s security breach of the twin suicide bombings in Baghdad “would not be repeated,” stressing the need to urgently address the challenges facing the performance of the intelligence services.
